The launch of the Nurturing Tomorrow Foundation: Conversations for Change podcast marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to advocate for children’s mental health and create more supportive communities. Hosted by Shaun Poland, founder of the Nurturing Tomorrow Foundation, and Victoria Little, our Chief Operating Officer, the podcast brings honest, real-life conversations to a space that too often feels filled with stigma and silence.
This isn’t a show about experts telling you what to do – it’s about real people sharing real stories.
The Why Behind the Foundation
For Shaun, the foundation began as a “lottery dream”, a way to give back if money were no object. But instead of waiting for a lucky break, he decided to take action now. Drawing from his personal experiences with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and autism, Shaun founded Nurturing Tomorrow with a simple but powerful goal:
“If we can help even one person, then that’s time well spent.”
The foundation focuses on early intervention for children, believing that supporting kids today helps build stronger, healthier adults tomorrow.
Victoria’s Perspective: Advocacy Through Lived Experience
Victoria’s passion for mental health also comes from lived experience. Reflecting on her struggles as a child, she shared how stigma and a lack of resources left her feeling isolated:
“I wish I had the tools, and I wish my parents had the resources that exist today.”
Now, as COO, she’s focused on building community connections and creating a safe space for honest mental health conversations.
What You Can Expect from the Podcast
The Conversations for Change podcast is all about connection. Each episode features open, unscripted discussions about lived experiences, advocacy, and ways we can all support better mental health for kids and families.
Here’s what makes it unique:
- Real Conversations, Not Clinical Lectures – While mental health professionals will be guests, Shaun and Victoria also highlight stories from everyday people.
- Breaking Stigma Through Honesty – From personal mental health journeys to parenting challenges, no topic is off-limits.
- Community-Focused Impact – This podcast isn’t about likes or shares; it’s about reaching even one person who needs to hear they’re not alone.
Why It Matters
In a world full of digital noise, finding genuine connection is harder than ever. By talking openly about struggles, victories, and the realities of mental health, the Nurturing Tomorrow team hopes to create a community built on empathy, curiosity, and action.
As Victoria said:
“If you’re going through it, there’s someone else out there going through it too. You just don’t know whose life your story might impact.”
